SAIGON 1975 - THE BOARDGAME
A downloadable game
Overview:
Saigon 1975 - The Boardgame was created as part of the Game Production and Management course at Neu-Ulm University. The board game, a one-man project, is a mixture of strategy and card game. It adapts the video game "Company of Heroes" as a board game.
Over a period of one semester, a large number of prototypes were created from which ideas were taken and further developed.
The project will culminate in the Stage Gate 3 presentation and will then be presented at the "Games Kickstart" at Neu-Ulm University.
As a side project, the video game adaptation of Saigon 1975 - The Boardgame was created:
Saigon 1975 - The Videogame, which can also be found under my Itch.io account.
Gameplay:
The central game mechanic of Saigon 1975 - The Boardgame is the conquest and holding of areas on a world map.
Players try to gain control of the target areas, so called victory tokens, through strategic planning, the deployment of troops and special abilities.
The competition for dominance of the victory tokens is the focus.
Whoever maintains control of the majority of the victory tokens long enough wins the game.
This core mechanic is supplemented by special cards and bonus fields.
Special cards grant players special and powerful abilities each round, but these can only be used by redeeming experience points.
Conquering bonus fields also grants players important advantages, but ties valuable troops to the respective area.
Saigon 1975 – The Boardgame is suitable for people aged 12 and over and is aimed at all fans of strategic and tactical games who love entertaining and exciting duels.
